Lucky 73 years old woman wins 9-Millions from California Super Lotto

A Southern California woman won half of an $18 million California SuperLotto Plus jackpot, and she has her children and grandchildren to thank for the win.

Audelia Ramirez of Alhambra, California, won the sizable lottery fortune by using her children and grandchildren's birthdays to pick the winning numbers.

The California Lottery said Thursday that Ramirez claimed her $9 million prize Wednesday and said she'd love to buy a new house after living in a small apartment for years. She also wants to spend some of the winnings on her children and grandchildren.

The 73-year-old has six children and eight grandchildren.

She purchased the winning ticket from Superior Super Warehouse in Pico Rivera. Another winning ticket sold at Junior Liquor in San Diego remains unclaimed.

Junior Liquor and Superior Super Warehouse will split the $90,000 retailer bonus for selling the winning tickets.

The winning California SuperLotto Plus numbers for the Aug. 31, 2011, drawing were: 2, 22, 27, 31, 32, with Mega Ball number 11.
